I’m in-firmed

What’s up gang, I’ve got Covid. Or I did when I started trying to write this, today (the 11th) I’m symptom free but will probably quarantine another day. I literally just got over the flu before I came down with Miss Rona. I’m quarantining in the bedroom to try to keep Megan well since we’re both self employed and don’t get sick days. It’s lonely in here and I miss her.

Also I’m now seeking a job. Basically any job where photography is one of the main duties. My dream would be to be on staff at a creative/ advertising agency, but it doesn’t have to be that. Just trying to put that out into the world. Taking over two weeks of unpaid sick time will make you reconsider things. But also to become the photographer I want to be I need to do more volume of work.

I’ve been playing a lot of Gran Tourismo while I’ve been cooped up. When you fall behind in a race the instinct is to fix it with the gas, but in reality you need to focus on your lines and your braking. Feels like there’s a lesson in there but maybe I’m forcing it. In the time I haven’t been sick I’ve photographed my friends and went on a quick weekend trip to see family. The photos here are just a random collection of images made this month.

Starting off with a spec shoot at Chaney’s Dairy Barn in hopes of landing the cover of Hoard’s Dairyman magazine. Haven’t heard back yet but hopefully they like them.

Then a test shoot with my friends Hugh and Magnolia, trying out some slow shutter speed stuff with gels.

I’ve also been listening to The Lord of the Rings books. I just finished the first one and am halfway through the Two Towers. I read The Hobbit first and have been trying to watch the movies but buddy they are rough. I had a photo featured in Float Magazine’s gallery Whispering Shadows, which is pretty sweet. https://www.floatmagazine.us/online-exhibitions/exhibitions/whispering-shadows. Lastly here’s some random photos from the road. Hope your 2025 is off to a better start than mine.
