Climbing Spec Shoot

A goal of mine is to shoot for outdoor apparel and equipment companies because I love backpacking and camping and all that jazz. In an effort to make myself enticing to those companies I’ve been trying to do some spec shoots this summer. Last week the Western Kentucky Climbing Club let me join them at Shanty Hollow for an evening of bouldering.

Personally I am built more like the boulders than the climbers, but the more I photograph it the more I think about joining the local gym. I shot these photos on my Fuji GFX100 medium format camera with a very old Canon 85mm attached via converter. I love the quality of images that the camera makes but this set up really takes its time autofocusing and totally changes my approach. Sometimes I like that, but most of the time I think about how nice it will be when I can upgrade.

So a big thank you to the climbing club, enjoy the photos!
