A photographic reunion
Hello and welcome to my blog/mailing list. Just to remind you my name’s Austin Anthony, I live in Bowling Green, Kentucky, but often work out of Nashville.
This is Myron, he owns Cedar Trailer Co., a small business manufacturing tap trailers for events like weddings. They’re sold to entrepreneurs and beverage companies primarily. Myron also is one of my oldest friends.
We met sometime early in high school, and found a group of friends and regrettably called ourselves Bro9. You see, we were all graduating in 2009 and saying “Bro” was incredibly popular at the time. Much like how the Zoomers were really into “bruh” for a bit there. Time is a flat circle.
This Festool saw had just arrived when I drove out to the Cumberland Gap for this shoot. Both of us are enthusiastic about finely crafted tools, so he got it set up and it was a star of the shoot.
As for my equipment I used a Canon R5 with a 28-70mm f2 triggering three Godox lights, and a Fuji GFX100 with a Canon 85mm f1.2 attached via converter using natural light.
My main goal for this shoot was to highlight the care that Myron puts into each of these trailers. Each one is a bespoke marriage of form and function.
I turned 34 last week. I’ve been a lot of different people in the two decades that I’ve known Myron, and made a lot of mistakes along the way. But I’ve always been blessed with some really great friends who have stuck by me as I experienced growing pains.
This was the first time I’d seen Myron in person in probably ten years, and it was a lovely weekend with him and his wife Michelle. It’s hard to measure a successful life but moments like this make me feel pretty good about mine.
Thanks for reading and looking at my photos. Give me a call if you’ve got a job for me.
